Spiti Ride by Thanjavur Sub Chapter
Very happy to connect with you all, my dear friends, that three IFMR ians, Rahim, Vijay, and Self successfully finished our Spiti bike trip, which is an adventure beauty of the Himalayas. We left the Trichy airport on June 16 and arrived in Kullu on June 17. After spending a whole day there relaxing, we began our bike adventure early on June 18. While traveling, we stopped at several historic monasteries and viewed the Buddhist Sangla Tanzin Mummy, which is remarkable since it was preserved without the use of preservatives since 1430.
We arrived at the world’s highest post office, Hikkim, and stamped our visit while sending postcards to our loved ones.Additionally, we visited Komuk, the highest motorable community in the world, and Chitkul, the last village in India. In the trip’s pinnacle, we traveled to Chandratal Lake, a place as spiritual as Kailash’s Manosoraver. The true journey began now, covering a distance of 150 km from Kaza to Chandradal and Chandradal to Manali.
It was the most challenging ride we had ever taken, with numerous water crossings, nearly riding on a river, filthy roads, and lots of slick, wet spots. However, we did so safely and with great success. Nearly everything is described; if something is not clear, I will discuss everything with you in person. and transmit the images and videos.
